Small Christian Communities
Buena Vista is a grassroots organization of the folks, people who are members of small Christian communities. An umbrella organization, it networks a variety of approaches to small Christian community development.
NAPRC The National Alliance of Parishes Re-structuring into Communities was found by Fr. Art Baranowski (Archdiocese of Detroit) as an association of parishes and people who pursue a comprehensive vision for strengthening the parish as whole. This effort is centered on a simple vision statement for parish: Ordinary people helping each other to connect life and faith regularly. The vision is implemented along to two lines: 1. Doing every parish program and activity in a reflective and relational style; 2. Establishing beginning small groups that grow gradually into longer term small church communities.
The North American Forum for Small Church Communities is an association of diocesan personnel charged with the task of promoting and supporting small Christian community development in the parishes of their respective dioceses. The NAFSCC has approximately 80 member dioceses from the United States and Canada.
The Institute of Ministry houses the Loyola/Lily Research Project on Small Christian Communities in the U.S. Catholic Context. It also offers a graduate degree in pastoral ministry with a specialty in small Christian community formation.
